Kogo- Incense Container 6

These small incense containers, by Cirilo Domine, are called Kogo. The kogo appears briefly in the charcoal-laying procedure at a tea gathering.

These shapes, Inspired by the ruins of foundation stones at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, were made quickly and decisively. They illuminate the temporal nature of place and belonging.

Made in Los Angeles with wild clay from North Carolina and wood-fired at Cider Creek Collective, Albion, California.
